It is the perfect upgrade for families who already own a Herbie and want to add a fresh layer of fun, climbing and imaginative play to their backyard.

This is an add-on for the Herbie Cubby House and does not include the cubby house itself. It is supplied as unpainted timber and must be painted for long-term durability. Customer photos may show painted finishes, accessories and the cubby house, which are not included with this add-on.

About the Herbie Platform Add-On
The Herbie Platform Add-On is built to elevate the Herbie Cubby House onto a sturdy timber platform, raising the deck to approximately 900mm off the ground. The result is a classic raised cubby house with a slide — the look so many families love — created from the cubby you already have.
Children climb the ladder up to the deck, step out onto the small balcony to survey their kingdom, then race down the 1.75m wavy slide. The added height brings extra space underneath for shaded play, while the balcony rail and enclosed deck keep the focus on safe, active fun. Like the rest of the Herbie range, this add-on arrives as pre-fabricated timber panels and components to make assembly more manageable.

Painting & Care Guide
Painting is essential. Your add-on arrives with a temporary water-based stain to protect the timber in transit. This is not a permanent finish. To protect the timber and help maintain your warranty, paint all surfaces before assembly. We recommend painting within 2–4 weeks of delivery.
Our recommended Dulux system:
- Apply a minimum of 2 coats of Dulux 1 Step Prep (primer, sealer & undercoat) to all surfaces
- Apply a minimum of 2 coats of Dulux Weathershield exterior paint
- Use a brush rather than spray for better coverage and timber penetration
- Cover every surface, including edges, corners and joins

Safety & Placement Information
Adult supervision required. Children should always be supervised when climbing, playing on the raised platform and using the slide. Use the slide one child at a time, feet first and sitting down, and keep the area at the bottom of the slide clear.
Because this is elevated play:
- Position the platform on soft, level ground and consider an impact-absorbing surface (such as soft-fall mulch, rubber or grass) under and around the deck and at the base of the slide
- Check the balcony rail, ladder and slide fixings regularly and keep all fasteners secure
- Keep the deck clear of toys and trip hazards
Placement requirements:
- Level ground: Position on level ground to prevent movement or instability. Uneven ground can cause timber movement, gaps and warping
- Good drainage: Place where water drains away to prevent moisture build-up, rot and mould. Avoid low-lying or flood-prone areas
- Stable base: Provide support under all platform legs and floor joins. Pavers alone are not recommended
- Weather protection: This play equipment is not cyclone-rated. Secure or bring in loose items before severe weather
Natural timber characteristics:
Timber is a natural product and may develop minor cracks and gaps over time as moisture content changes. This is normal expansion and contraction and does not affect the strength or structural integrity of the platform. Cracks typically close back up once moisture returns.
Assembly & Support
The Herbie Platform Add-On is supplied as pre-fabricated timber panels and components with assembly hardware. A second adult makes assembly easier, and we recommend painting before you build.
Tip: Snug is secure — do not overtighten screws, as this is the leading cause of timber splitting during assembly.
