Frequently Asked Questions

What tools do I need to assemble a cubby house or swing set?
Most Hide & Seek Kids products require a drill, Phillips screwdriver, level, measuring tape, and rubber mallet. A spanner is occasionally needed for bolt-and-nut fixings. The full tool list is at the beginning of each manual.
Should I paint my cubby house before or after assembly?
Before assembly is strongly recommended. Painting individual pieces gives you access to all surfaces, edges, and cut ends. Visit our Painting & Maintenance Guide for product recommendations and application advice.
How many people does it take to assemble a cubby house?
A minimum of two adults is required for most products. Larger structures like the Billie Grand and Frankie Grand are best assembled with three people, particularly for lifting the roof section. Never attempt assembly alone — parts are heavy and awkward to hold while fastening.
How long does assembly typically take?
Smaller cubby houses typically take 3–5 hours for two adults. Larger structures and fort-and-swing combos can take a full day. If painting first, allow 24–48 hours drying time before assembly day.
