Ethical Sourcing
Every cubby house, swing set and piece of outdoor play equipment we make starts with the people who build it. We're a small Brisbane family business, but we take the same approach to our supply chain that we'd want any business we buy from to take: know who's making your products, know how they're treated, and don't look away from the answer.
OUR COMMITMENTWhat we expect from every supplier
We require every factory and manufacturing partner we work with to meet standards based on the core labour conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the principles of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. As a minimum, our suppliers must:
- Not engage in or support child labour, forced labour, bonded labour or any form of modern slavery, anywhere in their operations or supply chain
- Pay at least the legal minimum wage, correctly compensate overtime, and avoid excessive working hours
- Provide a safe, clean working environment with appropriate training and protective equipment
- Treat workers fairly, free from discrimination, harassment or abuse
- Respect workers' right to freely associate and raise concerns without retaliation
- Source timber legally and manage chemicals, waste and emissions responsibly
- Act with honesty and integrity, free from bribery or corruption
- Comply with all local laws in their country of operation, at a minimum
These expectations form part of our Supplier Code of Conduct, which is shared with every manufacturing partner we onboard.
At a glance: we work directly with our factories (not through an undisclosed middleman), we request independent audit evidence where it's available, and we review every core supplier relationship at least once a year.
Due diligence, not just a policy on paper
We work directly with our manufacturing partners rather than through undisclosed intermediaries, so we always know who makes our products and where. Before we bring a new supplier on board, we assess their practices and request evidence of independent social compliance auditing (such as SMETA or BSCI) where available.
We keep records of our suppliers and review these relationships on an ongoing basis. Where a concern is identified, whether through an audit, a site visit, or another channel, we work with the supplier on a documented corrective action plan. We're prepared to end a relationship where serious concerns aren't addressed.
MODERN SLAVERY POLICYOur Modern Slavery Policy
Modern slavery describes situations where coercion, threats or deception are used to exploit victims and undermine their freedom — including human trafficking, slavery, servitude, forced labour, debt bondage and the worst forms of child labour. Hide & Seek Kids is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings, and to having effective systems in place to identify, prevent and address modern slavery in our own operations and throughout our supply chain. We will not knowingly support or deal with any business involved in modern slavery.
As a small business, Hide & Seek Kids falls below the revenue threshold that requires a formal Modern Slavery Statement to be lodged under the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth). Regardless, we've chosen to document and apply this Policy voluntarily, and the due diligence practices above reflect that commitment. We review and strengthen our approach as our business grows.
GOVERNANCEWho's responsible
Responsibility for this Policy, supplier onboarding, and our supply chain due diligence sits with our founder, who reviews supplier relationships and audit evidence directly. As a small, family-run business, we don't have a dedicated compliance team, but we do have clear ownership and documented processes behind these commitments.

The commitments above are drawn from our full Modern Slavery Policy and Supplier Code of Conduct, which sets out in detail our approach to modern slavery risk and what we require from every manufacturing partner we work with — covering legal compliance, labour standards, health and safety, environmental practice, product safety, and business integrity.
