Jessica Alba found us online, liked what she saw, and asked us to be on her TV show. That's how we ended up building a cubby house on national American television.
No agent. No product placement deal. No middleman. Jessica's production team for Honest Renovations on The Roku Channel was looking for a premium playhouse for a family backyard transformation, and they landed on our website. A few emails later, we were booked for Season 3, Episode 4 - "Big Family, Big Fixes."

What We Built
The episode followed a busy family who needed their backyard to work harder for them. Multiple kids, not enough outdoor play space, and a yard that wasn't being used to its potential. That's where we came in.
We designed and built a custom playhouse with a timber pergola extension - giving the family an outdoor play zone with shade, room to move, and a structure the kids could grow into over the years. Multiple windows for natural light and parent sightlines, cottage-style detailing, and enough space inside for imaginative play without feeling cramped.
Building for TV adds a layer of pressure you don't normally deal with. Cameras rolling, production schedules to hit, and the knowledge that millions of people will see the finished product. But timber doesn't care about cameras. The build process is the same whether it's being filmed or not - measure, cut, assemble, check, repeat.
The Family's Reaction
The best part of any build is the reveal. And this one was on camera, which made it even better. Watching the family walk out and see their backyard completely transformed - the kids running straight for the cubby house, the parents realising they'd actually use their outdoor space now - that's the moment that makes everything worth it.
Jessica and her co-host Lizzy Mathis were genuinely impressed with the quality. Not in a polite TV way. They actually stopped and looked at the timber, asked how it was constructed, and commented on the finish. That meant a lot coming from people who see dozens of products across every episode.

We're a small business. Mum, Dad, me, and whoever else we can rope into helping on build days. The fact that an international production team searched the world for a playhouse brand and chose an Australian family business from Brisbane - that's something we're proud of.
