Helpful Information
Cubby House FAQs
What age are cubby houses suitable for?
Our cubby houses are designed for children aged 3 years and up, depending on the product. For safety, we recommend adult supervision at all times, especially for younger kids exploring slides, swings, or climbing features.
Do your cubby houses and forts come with slides and swings?
Yes! Many of our cubby houses and forts include slides, swings, and climbing walls. You can also add accessories such as trapeze bars, handles, and rock walls to customise your play set. Did we mention that you can choose your colours too?
Are Hide & Seek Kids cubby houses safe for young children?
Absolutely. All of our cubby houses use durable timber, smooth edges, and secure fittings. Safety is a top priority, and our products are designed for Australian backyards with child-friendly features. We also test our products through Australian and US Safety Standards. Not many others do that!!
Do I need to paint or seal my timber cubby house?
Yes — all timber cubby houses are supplied untreated or with a light water-based stain, and must be painted or sealed for long-term durability. This protects the wood from weather and ensures your warranty remains valid. Dont forget the discounted paint supplies at Dulux (check out our Care tips here for more).
How long does delivery take in Australia?
Delivery times vary by location. Most metro orders are delivered within 3–14 business days, while regional areas may take a little longer. We deliver Australia-wide directly to you.
What is the difference between a cubby house and a fort?
A cubby house is typically a ground-level playhouse with windows and doors for role play, while a fort is usually elevated, featuring climbing elements, slides, and swing sets for more active play.
Do you offer assembly services or is DIY assembly required?
We don't offer a assembly service. Our cubby houses are supplied flat-packed with full instructions and hardware for DIY assembly. They are partially assembled!
How do I maintain my cubby house to last for years?
For long life, ensure your cubby house is painted or sealed, keep it clear of ground moisture, and check fittings periodically. With proper care, Hide & Seek Kids cubbies can provide years of outdoor fun for your family.
